Here "shrine" refers to the somewhat religious image of the holy icon in people's mind.
To many people, computer screen has become the object to which they pay the most attention everyday, and it is also a place to build personal or public belief. When the computer screen finally gets a chance to take a rest, screensavers start to decorate the "window". Numorous invisible flashing lines compose the light-box. The existence of these screens offers people sense of safety, ensuring that they are connected to the world.
Initiator Judy Freya Sibayan will collect these "shrines" via email. Then he will make a choice and forward the pictures to people in Shanghai and all over the world. So all the participants must give their approval that the pictures can be downloaded as public resources. We will suggest people using these shrine piectures as desktops or screensavers, in which way these pictures representing faith can become shrines in another way. This is another form of this project.
