Description:
In many villages of Guangzhou, women are usually engaged in bead embroidery. Minor and insignificant as the work may seem, it plays an important role in Chinese clothing industry, which is one of China's most significant industries to earn foreign exchanges. As a matter of fact, such huge value is created by tens of thousands of handicraftsmen, including both those working in factories and at home.
This project is another valuable discovery made by 366 Letters of Intrude: Art & Life. Artists Chen Zhou and Zhang Xiaojing went to Xiao Zhou Village in Guangzhou and found Ms. A Mei who was skillful in bead embroidery. A Mei embroidered the pattern of national flag on a piece of cloth, which is now displayed at Zendai gift shop. The artists hope that the artistic value of bead embroidery can be further explored.
