Description:
Porcelain enamel cup used to be the most popular cup throughout China. It has become a symbol of the unforgettable hard times left in the collective memory of the whole generation. Inspired by its rich historical implications, the artists have made a few more new porcelain mugs according to the model of porcelain enamel cup. Therefore not only the quality of the cups has been improved, but a kind of humor has also been added.
The artists specially design two sets of unique mugs for Zendai MoMA, with 366 mugs in each set. On each mug there are some popular phrases or sentences written by hand. When the mugs are put together, all these phrases and sentences will form a key to interpreting the era. |
